John Czajkowski '83 will be the new executive dean for administration at Harvard Medical School. Alisha Peek '14 Awarded Scholarship to Alvin Ailey School Professional Division

Sierra Armstrong '14 Speaks to Members of U.S. House & Senate

Four BMHS Juniors Present at ADW 3rd Annual Academic Symposium

On March 11, 2014, at the Third Annual Archdiocese of Washington HSPA Academic Symposium, four of our juniors presented papers they had written previously to fellow high schoolers. Josephine Kalshoven ‘15, Rachel Leader ‘15, Andrew Maduakor ‘15, and Cathryn Tsu ‘15, were nominated by a faculty member for exemplary work on a research paper or project.

BMHS Student Dancers perform in UTZ Promotion Baltimore Harbor

Students from the BMHS Dance Program, alumni John Koroma '13, Samantha Bowie '15, Gabbi Grant '16 and Shae-Lynn Warren '16 were among 50 area dancers chosen to perform in a flash mob at the Baltimore National Harbor for a National Chip Day promotion March 14, 2014.  The event was directed and choreographed by McNamara alumnus Joseph Webb '96 (American Embassy of Dance Director).  It was also co-choreographed by Crishon Landers and Coordinated by Baredu Ahmed.  The students put on an amazing performance in front of a very large crowd with only four rehearsals to prepare for the event.

In the recent special publication, produced by Gazette Newspapers, Theology Department Chair Adam Greer as well as BMHS Parents, Rosie Allen-Herring and Allan Herring, were featured in an article entitled Attending a School of a Different Faith: Religious Schools Welcome Students of Different Faiths written by Karen Finucan Clarkson.  

Cultures Merge: Spain-USA exchange for BMHS

In early September of 2014 the Paz de Ziganda Ikastola (Basque school) in Pamplona (Navarra), Spain students and their teachers would like to come for about two weeks. As in years past, we anticipate needing some 30 families to host students.  During that time, they will live with BMHS families who will act as their hosts. Indeed, during that time they are a part of your family.

Keeping up with Corey Briscoe

Senior Corey Briscoe recently reflected on his internship this past summer at the National Zoo and his future plans.  Corey was really excited about the internship through the YES! Program where he worked for several weeks as a keeper’s aid.
