Herman Gloster '96 is the Assistant Admissions Director. Mr. Gloster holds a Bachelor of Arts from Johnson C. Smith University and is a graduate of Bishop McNamara High School. He has taught at Bishop McNamara High School and Garinger High School, located in Charlotte, NC. In addition to being the Assistant Admissions Director, Mr. Gloster is also teaching United States History.
Jeffrey Southworth ’05 has accepted the job as the Associate Director of Admissions and Director of Summer Programs. Mr. Southworth holds a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Communications from Salisbury University. He is a proud alumni who returned to the classroom after graduating to teach freshman Literature and Composition and sophomore Rhetoric. Although, not in the classroom anymore, Mr. Southworth is still an active figure and tutor in the BMHS St. Joseph’s program. He is also involved in BMHS athletics where he served as the Assistant Coach for the BMHS Varsity Wrestling team and Head Assistant for the BMHS Women’s Varsity Volleyball team. Mr. Southworth’s younger brother, Kevin ’08, is also a graduate of BMHS.
Patricia Norris Garber has served as the Director of Admissions since 2003. Prior to this she served three years, from 2001-2003, as Associate Director of Admissions. Mrs. Garber holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees from Mississippi University of Women, a Master of Education from the University of Maryland, and a certificate of Organizational Development from Georgetown University. She has taught for the University of Maryland's University College in Europe, Mississippi State University, Mississippi University for Women and Belleville Community College, in addition to teaching locally in the Archdiocese of Washington. Mrs. Garber and her husband Michael reside in Upper Marlboro, and are members of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic parish in Upper Marlboro.
Mrs. Dawn Smith Greer, admissions assistant, began working in the Admissions Office in 2005. Having attended the Tehran American High School in Iran, Mrs. Greer graduated from Central High School in 1978 when her father was assigned to Andrews Air Force Base. Mrs. Greer holds an Associate of Science degree in nuclear medicine from Prince George's Community College and is a 1983 graduate of the Washington School for Secretaries. Mrs. Greer and her husband Randy are proud parents of the Religion Department chair, Mr. Adam Greer, and three Bishop McNamara graduates: Shannon, 2004; Danielle, 2006; and Heather, 2008. The Greers are active members of Sacred Heart parish in Bowie, MD.
