Bishop McNamara competes in the highly competitive Washington Catholic Athletic Conference at the Varsity and Junior Varsity levels in the following sports: Fall - Football, Women's Tennis, Volleyball, Cross Country, Women's Soccer, Men's Soccer, and Cheerleading; Winter - Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Swimming, Wrestling, Cheerleading, and Indoor Track; Spring - Baseball, Softball, Men's Tennis, Men's Lacrosse, Women's Lacrosse, Track & Field, and Golf.

Girls 4x100 at Penn Relays 2013

Here is a recent picture of Jaidlin Hill '14 and Jaela Gay '16, two members of the BMHS Track and Field Girls 4x100 in action at the recent Penn Relay.
 
According to Coach Chapman, this was very "Exciting and Emotional."

Congratulations Boys 4x400 Take First Place at Penn Relays

The Bishop McNamara Boys 4x400 Relay Team took First Place at the 2013 Penn Relays at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

BMHS Jumpers Top in State - Qualify for Prestigious Penn Relays

Three Bishop McNamara High School student athletes, all three top jumpers in the state, have qualified and are headed to the prestigious Penn Relays, the largest international sporting event hosted in the United States this year.
 

McNamara Girls Track and Jordan Martin '13 Win at BMHS Invitational

The Bishop McNamara High School Track & Field Girls Team came out on top at the BMHS Mustang's Track & Field Invitational on Saturday, April 20.

Jordan Martin '13 set a Bishop McNamara Mustangs Invitational record in the 110-hurdles at 14.06 seconds on Saturday. The Bishop McNamara Girls won the team title with 98.5 points, beating Elizabeth Seton High School. A standout was record-tying high jump (5 feet 4 inches) by Christina Solomon '13 and a first-place long jump by Jaidlin Hill '14 (17-8.50). The BMHS Boys Team took second behind Forest Park.  

Danielle Wheatley '13 Receives Scholarship from Villanova University

Congratulation goes out to Danielle Wheatley '13 who has received and accepted a scholarship from the Villanova University in Pennsylvania. Danielle says it was a close battle between Villanova and Georgetown, but Villanova was her choice.
 
Bishop McNamara Track & Field coach, Keith Chapman, said this about the news, "Danielle, we are so happy for you and we know that Villanova has received a great student athlete! Congrats goes out to your parents, who supported you in track and field since you were young."

Marcus Thornton '11 NABC All-District 10 First Team

Marcus Thornton '11, sophomore Men's Basketball player at William & Mary College, has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 10 First Team. Marcus is only the third Tribe player in the history of the program to be named to the NABC team.

Mustang Men's Lacrosse Trips Raiders

After taking a 3 to zip lead in the first quarter the Mustangs slipped up and let the Raiders back in the game ending the half 4 - 3!  But strong Goal tending from Romyel Santos and some great defense from Michael Sensenig, Emanual Wren and Jerome Thomas help keep the Raiders from forging an effort to gain the lead. Controlling the ball became the theme as Aidan Flynn, Jimmy Stripping  and Cory Horton controlled the ball in the middle of the filed getting it to their offense. 3 goals were scored by Aidan Flynn, Dom Pagliaro added two and Joseph Barber, Marcus Foster each chipped in one.

BMHS Track & Field Win All-Gazette Awards

Two Bishop McNamara student athletes, Jordan Martin '13 and Brielyn Rogers '13, have been selected as the All-Gazette Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Year, and Keith Chapman, BMHS Track & Field coach, has been named Gazette Coach of the Year.
