Bishop McNamara competes in the highly competitive Washington Catholic Athletic Conference at the Varsity and Junior Varsity levels in the following sports: Fall - Football, Women's Tennis, Volleyball, Cross Country, Women's Soccer, Men's Soccer, and Cheerleading; Winter - Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Swimming, Wrestling, Cheerleading, and Indoor Track; Spring - Baseball, Softball, Men's Tennis, Men's Lacrosse, Women's Lacrosse, Track & Field, and Golf.

Talib Zanna '09 Breaking Records in ACC Tournament

Talib Zanna '09 scores 19 points and grabs career high 21 rebounds, which is the 3rd all time in the 61 years of the ACC Tournament. He set a 61 year old ACC Tournament Record for offensive rebounds in a game with 10. Pitt faces Colorado at 1:40 pm on Thursday on TBS.

BMHS Indoor Track & Field Teams Take All County and All WCAC Awards

Congratulations to the student-athletes who had a fantastic year in the 2013/2014 Indoor Track and Field.  They came away with so many first and second team All County and WCAC!

The BMHS Dance Team wins First at MAPDA Winter Invitational

Congratulations to the BMHS Dance Team for their 1st place win in all categories of dance  at the MAPDA Winter Invitational competition at Oxon Hill High School on February 22, 2014.  Our team won 1st place trophies in lyrical, jazz, and hip hop. Bijon Lane '14 won 1st place captain award for hip hop and Alisha Peek '14 won 1st place captain award for Lyrical & Jazz. Great job Ladies!

McNamara Hoops Upsets St. John's in WCAC Quarterfinals

The McNamara Hoops' upset of St. John's was one for the record books. With no starting seniors, the young team beat a team that, most recently, had been ranked 11th in the entire country. The team went on to face Paul VI in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference semifinals at American University that ended in a loss for the Hoops at 67 to 41. Alfred Bannister - Among Nations Best Wrestler

Senior Alfred "Baby J" Bannister has just won his fourth straight Maryland State title, as well as being named the Maryland Independent Schools Championships Outstanding Wrestler. Baby J, the winningest high school wrestler in Maryland history.

2014 Spring Track and Field

Alfred Bannister '14 Breaks State Record for Wins

Following tying the Maryland State Wrestling Association record for career wins at the Patriot Duals on Saturday, January 25, Alfred J. "Baby J" Bannister '14 and the Mustang Wrestling Team travelled to Gonzaga College High School on Sunday, January 26, to take on the Eagles. Baby J, wrestling at 145 lbs, again pinned his opponent in the first period for his 250th career high school win. The win set a new Maryland record and was an added achievement to a wrestler that, in his high school career alone, has achieved near unparalleled success as a:

National Signing Day at Bishop McNamara

On the first Wednesday of February, high school seniors can sign a binding National Letter of Intent for college athletics. This morning at 10:00 a.m., five senior student-athletes of Bishop McNamara signed an athletic scholarship for the college or university of their choice.
