3 McNamara Seniors Selected to the MD General Assembly Page Program

Seniors Justice Stanton, Ashleigh Williams, and Erin Musselman were selected as Student Pages for the 2014 Maryland General Assembly.  Student Pages will spend two nonconsecutive weeks in either the State Senate or the House of Delegates in the spring performing a number of duties.  For more information on the program, contact Mr. Shin.

2nd Semester Schedule Changes

The second semester of the 2013-2014 school year will begin on Friday, January 24.  Please review your child’s second semester class schedule with him or her to ensure that any open periods have been filled with a class or study hall.  Students should see their counselors by Wednesday, January 15, to make any changes to their second semester schedules.  Instructions for accessing your child’s schedule in the Parent Portal are available on the Counseling Page of our website.  If you have any problems accessing the portal please e-mail

Kyara Frames '17 helps Lady Mustangs with victory over Good Counsel is impressed with the poise and control of Bishop McNamara freshman, Kyara Frames, who was successful at the foul line in the fourth quarter to help the Lady Mustangs win over the Good Counsel Falcons this week. 

Marcus Thornton '11 CAA Player of the Week

William & Mary junior guard, Marcus Thornton '11 has again been named CAA Player of the Week in which he averaged 25.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.0 steals, as William & Mary has a 2-0 week.

2 McNamara Students Selected to Participate in Youth Leadership Greater Washington

Congratulations to Maya Fisher '16 and Sierra Oates '17 to their selections as members of the 2014 Class of the Youth Leadership Greater Washington Program.  Each year Leadership Greater Washington selects proven or aspiring youth leaders from diverse backgrounds and provides them with the opportunity to learn from some of the area's most important decision makers to study various topics such as diversity, the arts, health, public service and community service.

BMHS African Music and Dance Program - A Step Above!

The Bishop McNamara High School African Music and Dance Program has dynamic and innovative classes designed to celebrate the rich and diverse culture of African music and dance in America. Led by Mr. Victor Bah, students learn the intricacies of the arts, live drumming, and African contemporary movement. This video showcases this one of a kind high school program.
