Class of 2014: Order Senior Prom & King's Dominion Tickets Online

Senior Prom and Kings Dominion Tickets available now online for Class of 2014. The King's Dominion Trip is on May 10 and the Senior Prom is on May 17th.  All information including permissions slips will be distributed at the Senior Parent Meeting on April 23, 2014 (new date; please mark your calendars). Permission slips must be completed and returned for both events by May 2nd! 

Alfred Bannister - Among Nations Best Wrestler

Senior Alfred "Baby J" Bannister has just won his fourth straight Maryland State title, as well as being named the Maryland Independent Schools Championships Outstanding Wrestler. Baby J, the winningest high school wrestler in Maryland history.

Senior Corey Briscoe recently reflected on his internship this past summer at the National Zoo and his future plans.  Corey was really excited about the internship through the YES! Program where he worked for several weeks as a keeper’s aid. 

Damian Prince '14 to be a Terp!

Bishop McNamara senior, Damian Prince, has announced that he will be a University of Maryland Terp in the fall! At a press conference in front of a national audience on ESPN on National Signing Day, Damian made his decision to go to Maryland and the Big Ten this morning at 10:35 am. Congratulations to Damian and to the Maryland Terps for their success at signing him. He will be an asset to the team.

Janine Corley '16 Reserve Grand Champion

The Bishop McNamara Equestrian Team competed in a horse show in Darnestown, Maryland this weekend and Janine Corley '16  received two first places and a third place making her Reserve Grand Champion of her division. The Equestrian team has competed in 4 shows so far this year, coming away with this award in two events. Katie Ardovini '16  was awarded Reserve Grand Champion in her division at an earlier show this year.

Our congratulations to both Janine and Katie and the entire Equestrian Team.

Two Seniors Graduate Operation Understanding DC

Sierra Armstrong '14 and Brandon Brooks '14, graduated on January 25th from the year-long program called Operation Understanding DC in the chapel at American University’s Kay Spiritual Life Center. The 22 members of OUDC Class 19 shared their experiences growing together during the program that features three weekend retreats, regular Sunday sessions as well as a three-week summer journey taking participants to New York City and down through the Deep South.

Alfred Bannister '14 Wrestling "Beast of the East" Champion

Alfred "Baby J" Bannister '14 has again won the Beast of the East Championship held in Newark, Delaware. This is the second year in a row that he has taken the title home. Alfred has verbally committed to University of Maryland and will be part of the Terps wrestling program after his BMHS graduation in May.

Kyara Frames '17 helps Lady Mustangs with victory over Good Counsel is impressed with the poise and control of Bishop McNamara freshman, Kyara Frames, who was successful at the foul line in the fourth quarter to help the Lady Mustangs win over the Good Counsel Falcons this week. says Robert Jackson '15 "Hopeful for Playoffs" recently posted an article about the Bishop McNamara defensive back Robert Jackson '15 and his hopes for the playoffs and beyond.
